Chandernahan Lake is situated amidst beautiful snow-covered mountains in the Pabbar Valley in District Shimla of Himachal Pradesh. This lake is the point of origin of the Pabbar River.
Our journey begins with an exciting road-trip from Shimla to Janglikh - the last motorable village which is also the starting point of the trek. The trail from Janglikh will take us through Simru and Dayara Thach (Thach is a local name for high altitude meadows).
Walking through these meadows is like walking through a painting – vast green stretches of brilliant green pastures surrounded by high and barren mountains. The route takes us through a variety of terrains.
We pass through the dense forests of Pine, Cedar, fir, Rhododendron and more, accompanied by the Pabbar River along the way. Our final camp is at the scenic Litham Thach from where we trek the final stretch to the sacred lake of Chandernahan.
